Seven games into the new season and the numbers are already giving football fans plenty to argue about! 📊🔥
On one side, you have Karim Adeyemi, the explosive German attacker who has wasted little time making an impact at Barcelona. On the other, there’s Ademola Lookman, Nigeria’s dynamic forward now wearing Atlético Madrid colours. Two dangerous attackers, two very different starts to the campaign. ⚡️
Adeyemi has featured in all seven La Liga matches, but has mostly been used from the bench. Despite just 242 minutes and only two starts, he has already registered 2 goals and 2 assists, giving him 4 goal contributions. 😮💨🔥
His ability to change a game with pace, direct running and movement behind the defence has already given Barcelona another weapon in attack. 🚀🔵🔴
Lookman, meanwhile, has played a much bigger role for Atlético Madrid. The Nigerian has appeared in all seven league games, starting six, and has accumulated 460 minutes. He has scored once, with his goal coming in Atlético’s 3–1 victory over Sevilla. 🇳🇬💪
And that is where this comparison gets REALLY interesting… 👀🍿
🇩🇪 ADEYEMI
⚽ 7 appearances
⏱️ 242 minutes
🔥 2 goals
🎯 2 assists
💥 4 goal contributions
🇳🇬 LOOKMAN
⚽ 7 appearances
⏱️ 460 minutes
🔥 1 goal
🎯 0 assists
💥 1 goal contribution
But there’s an important twist: minutes and roles matter. Adeyemi has been used primarily as an impact substitute, while Lookman has been trusted to start regularly for Atlético. So the raw numbers tell only part of the story. 👀📈
Adeyemi has produced a goal contribution roughly every 61 minutes, while Lookman has one roughly every 460 minutes in La Liga so far.
That makes the debate even hotter! 🔥🔥
Is Adeyemi’s explosive impact off the bench showing that he deserves more starts? 🤔
Or should Lookman be given more time to settle into Atlético’s system after taking on a regular starting role? 🇳🇬⚽
Seven games down. The season is only getting started. The numbers have spoken… now football fans have the debate! 👀🔥
