Manchester United may have given the majority of their squad some much-needed time away from Carrington, but Carlos Baleba had other plans. 👀🔥
The Cameroon international was among the players who reported to Carrington for individual training sessions, continuing his hard work behind the scenes as he edges closer to making his long-awaited Manchester United debut. 💪🔴
Baleba arrived from Brighton in August for a deal worth up to £70 million, signing a contract through June 2031 with an option for another year. However, an ankle injury picked up during pre-season delayed the beginning of his United career.
But the midfielder has clearly been unwilling to let the setback slow him down. United have already shown him working both in the gym and on the grass at Carrington, while manager Michael Carrick has repeatedly indicated that Baleba is closing in on a return to full training.
🚨 AND NOW HE’S WORKING DURING HIS TIME OFF!
That mentality could be exactly what United supporters want to see from their expensive midfield arrival. While others enjoyed a break, Baleba continued his individual programme, putting himself through the necessary work to reach match fitness. 💥
Carrick has previously explained that Baleba was brought in because of the qualities he can add to United’s midfield, particularly his ability to balance the dynamics of the middle of the pitch.
And there is plenty of excitement about what he could bring.
The 22-year-old ranked among the Premier League’s strongest midfielders for defensive actions and second balls during the 2025/26 campaign, while his ability to carry the ball forward was also a major part of his profile at Brighton.
💪 Powerful
🧱 Aggressive in midfield
⚡ Athletic
🎯 Progressive with the ball
🇨🇲 Determined to make his mark
United supporters have been waiting patiently, but the wait could finally be nearing its end.
The club’s first match after the international break is scheduled against Tottenham Hotspur, and multiple reports have identified that fixture as a potential opportunity for Baleba to finally make his debut.
🔥 Imagine Baleba finally stepping onto the Old Trafford pitch in a Manchester United shirt after weeks of rehabilitation and individual training.
The debut is getting closer.
The midfielder is getting sharper.
And the message from Carrington is becoming very clear:
Carlos Baleba is coming. 👀🔴💪
