Liverpool could be heading towards one of the most fascinating selection battles at Anfield once Hugo Ekitiké is fully fit again. 😱🔴
The Reds invested heavily in their striking options, bringing in Ekitiké and Alexander Isak to give the attack two elite central options. And now the big question is becoming impossible to ignore: when both are available, who should lead the line? 👀
🇫🇷 HUGO EKITIKÉ: THE DYNAMIC THREAT
Before his serious Achilles injury, Ekitiké had already shown why Liverpool viewed him as a major attacking talent. His pace, movement, pressing and ability to attack space made him a dangerous option through the middle.
The Premier League previously highlighted his impressive run of form, including a brace against Brighton and another two-goal performance against Newcastle.
His return, however, will need to be managed carefully. Liverpool’s current head coach Andoni Iraola has indicated that January is a realistic target, although reports suggest Ekitiké is hoping to return sooner.
🇸🇪 ALEXANDER ISAK: THE £125M STATEMENT
Then there is Isak. 😮💨🔥
Liverpool broke the British transfer record to bring the Swedish striker to Anfield, and he has already demonstrated the devastating finishing ability that made him one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards.
In September, Isak scored twice inside the opening 10 minutes against Ipswich to secure Liverpool a 2–0 victory.
His combination of movement, technique, composure and ability to create something from difficult situations gives Liverpool a completely different attacking dimension.
But injuries have complicated his start at Anfield. Liverpool confirmed in September that Isak returned early from Sweden duty because of a minor injury and would be assessed by the club’s medical staff.
🔥 AND THAT’S WHERE THE REAL DEBATE STARTS…
Ekitiké offers explosiveness and relentless movement.
Isak offers elite finishing, technical quality and a proven Premier League record.
Both can lead the line. Both can score. Both can change a match.
But if Liverpool have to choose ONE as their first-choice No.9 when both are fully fit, there is only room for one name on the team sheet. 👀
🇫🇷 EKITIKÉ
🇸🇪 ISAK
Liverpool fans, the debate is officially ON! 🔥🔴
