Hugo Ekitike Eyes December Liverpool Return!

Liverpool have finally received a major boost in Hugo Ekitike’s long road back from injury, and Reds fans now have a date to get excited about!

The French striker is making encouraging progress after suffering a serious rupture of his right Achilles tendon during Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain in April. The injury ended his debut season early and also ruled him out of France’s World Cup campaign.

But now, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

According to reports from L’Équipe, Ekitike recently travelled to the United States to meet with a specialist as part of his rehabilitation, and his recovery is reportedly progressing according to plan. Even more encouragingly, the striker has now started light jogging on the pitch.

The current target is for Ekitike to return to team training in November, with a possible competitive comeback in December. However, Liverpool are expected to remain extremely careful because an Achilles injury requires a gradual return, and there is still no fixed date for his first appearance.

And his comeback could not come at a more interesting time.

Ekitike made a huge impression during his first season at Anfield, scoring 17 goals in all competitions, including 11 Premier League goals. Liverpool’s official statistics also confirm how quickly he made an impact after arriving on Merseyside.

With Liverpool currently dealing with attacking injury problems, including Cody Gakpo’s latest issue, Ekitike’s eventual return could give the Reds another powerful option in the final third.

Imagine the scenes at Anfield when Ekitike finally steps back onto that pitch.

After months of rehabilitation, setbacks and hard work, the Frenchman could be closing in on his long-awaited Liverpool comeback.

December cannot come soon enough!
