4 October 2014. Anfield. Adam Lallana’s first Liverpool goal. What a moment! 😍🔴
After making the summer move from Southampton, Lallana had been waiting for his first taste of scoring glory in a Liverpool shirt. Then, against West Bromwich Albion, the No.20 produced a moment of pure class just before half-time. ✨⚽️
Lallana picked up the ball, showed brilliant control, exchanged passes with Jordan Henderson, danced his way towards the edge of the box and calmly drilled a low finish into the far corner. 🎯🔥
BOOM! His first Reds goal was finally here! ❤️🔥
The goal gave Liverpool the lead and sent the Kop into celebration, although West Brom later equalised from the penalty spot. Liverpool refused to settle for a draw, however, and Henderson struck the winner to secure a crucial 2️⃣-1️⃣ victory at Anfield.
And there was an extra layer of sweetness to Lallana’s opener: Liverpool supporters later voted it the club’s Goal of the Month for October, with the strike receiving 49% of the votes. 🗳️🔥
What followed was a much bigger story.
Lallana would go on to spend six seasons at Liverpool, making 178 appearances and scoring 22 goals, while collecting some of the biggest prizes in world football. 🏆🔴
🏆 Champions League 2019
🏆 UEFA Super Cup 2019
🏆 FIFA Club World Cup 2019
🏆 Premier League 2019/20
His energy, technical quality and relentless pressing became especially important after Jürgen Klopp arrived, with Lallana becoming part of the team that transformed Liverpool into a genuine trophy-winning powerhouse. 💪🔥
From that first beautiful finish against West Brom to lifting the Premier League trophy at the end of the 2019/20 campaign, Adam Lallana left his mark on one of the greatest eras in Liverpool history. ❤️🏆
That first goal was only the beginning. What a Red. What a journey. What a player. 👏🔴❤️🔥
