Andoni Iraola has made it clear that he is not at Liverpool simply to compete — he wants to build a team capable of fighting for major trophies. 👀🔥

Reflecting on his opening weeks at Anfield, Iraola admitted that the international break has given him the opportunity to properly analyse his side, identify what has worked and understand where improvements are still needed.

The Spanish coach has deliberately avoided setting a specific points target or league position. Instead, his focus is on making Liverpool the best version of themselves.

And Iraola believes the squad already has the quality to compete at the very top.

“If we give these players a good platform, a good structure, we will be there fighting for the titles,” Iraola said. 🔥

That statement perfectly captures what he is trying to establish at Anfield.

Iraola wants Liverpool to play with greater intensity and verticality while still maintaining control of matches. His system demands aggressive pressing, quick transitions and coordinated movement, but he also knows that his team cannot simply turn every match into chaos.

The early signs have been encouraging. Liverpool have already shown the ability to press aggressively and recover the ball high up the pitch, while Iraola has also highlighted improvements in their defensive control. His challenge now is to make those performances consistent over an entire season.

The upcoming Manchester City clash provides another major test. City have started the league campaign strongly, while Iraola’s Liverpool remain unbeaten, setting up a huge early-season battle at Anfield. 🔥

With players such as Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo, Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk available to build around, expectations are naturally rising.

Iraola isn’t promising an immediate trophy. He is promising a structure that can take Liverpool towards one.

And if his tactical ideas continue to click, the Reds could become a serious title threat. 👀🏆🔴
