Barcelona are heading to Paris for a massive Champions League showdown, and Hansi Flick has a surprise addition to his travelling squad! 😱🔥
According to reports, 18-year-old defender Àlex Campos has been called up for the trip to face Paris Saint-Germain, giving the young La Masia talent a golden opportunity to experience the biggest stage in European football! 🌟🏟️
With Barcelona facing defensive injury problems ahead of Tuesday’s blockbuster encounter, Flick has decided to look towards the club’s academy for additional options. And guess what? Another young talent is getting his moment in the spotlight! 💙❤️👏
🚑 BARÇA’S DEFENCE TAKES A MASSIVE HIT!
Barcelona will travel without Jules Koundé and Eric García, who picked up injuries during the recent victory over Real Betis. Eric García is expected to miss several weeks, while Koundé’s absence also raises questions about his availability for the upcoming El Clásico against Real Madrid. 😩⚠️
These setbacks have forced Flick to rethink his defensive options at a crucial point in the season, with PSG and Real Madrid waiting in two enormous fixtures.
But this is where Barcelona’s famous academy could make the difference! 💎🔥
🌟 WHO IS ÀLEX CAMPOS?
At just 18 years old, Campos is one of the young defenders making progress through Barcelona’s youth system.
The centre-back joined La Masia in 2021 after arriving from Atlètic Segre and has continued developing his game with Barça Atlètic. Standing around 1.85 metres tall, he offers physical presence, aerial ability and confidence on the ball. 💪⚽
His development has attracted attention, with comparisons being drawn between his style and that of fellow young defender Pau Cubarsí.
Campos has also progressed quickly through the club’s youth ranks, and his inclusion in Flick’s Champions League squad represents another important milestone in his development. 🚀🔵🔴
👀 COULD THIS BE THE BEGINNING OF SOMETHING SPECIAL?
Let’s be clear, being included in the travelling squad does not guarantee that Campos will feature against PSG. However, the experience of travelling with the first team for such a huge European fixture could prove invaluable for the youngster.
With Barcelona’s defensive options stretched, Flick may need every available player to step up. And if the opportunity arrives, Campos could find himself facing some of Europe’s most dangerous attackers! 😳🔥
Meanwhile, Barça will welcome the return of Raphinha and Frenkie de Jong to the Champions League squad, providing Flick with a boost ahead of the battle in Paris. 💥💙❤️
The challenge is enormous, but Barcelona will be determined to maintain their strong European form against the reigning champions.
CULERS, WOULD YOU TRUST ÀLEX CAMPOS TO MAKE HIS FIRST-TEAM DEBUT AGAINST PSG IF FLICK NEEDS HIM? 👀🔥
💙❤️ LA MASIA NEVER STOPS PRODUCING TALENT!
