Barcelona fans, are you ready for this? 😱🔵🔴 Hansi Flick is facing a serious selection headache ahead of the massive Champions League showdown against Paris Saint-Germain, and he may have to make a surprising decision that nobody expected!
With key defenders falling to injuries, the German tactician is running out of natural options at the back. Now, two midfielders could be asked to step into an unfamiliar role as Barça prepare for one of their biggest tests of the season! 🏆⚔️
🗣️ FLICK HAS REVEALED HIS EMERGENCY OPTIONS! 👀
The Barcelona manager explained that he has several possibilities to consider, including Rodri, Frenkie de Jong and young defender Àlex Campos.
And honestly, Culés, this is where things get interesting! 🔥
🚨 RODRI: THE UNEXPECTED DEFENSIVE SOLUTION? 🇪🇸🛡️
Rodri could be an option to partner Pau Cubarsí in central defence. Although primarily known for his work in midfield, he has previously played in a deeper defensive role, including during Spain’s 2022 World Cup campaign.
His reading of the game, composure on the ball and ability to anticipate danger could help Barcelona build from the back. However, facing PSG’s attacking threats would demand concentration, strong positioning and excellent communication throughout the match. 💪🔥
🚨 FRENKIE DE JONG: A SURPRISE RETURN IN A NEW POSITION? 🇳🇱💎
Frenkie de Jong is another name Flick could turn to in this defensive emergency.
The Dutch midfielder is renowned for his ability to escape pressure, carry the ball forward and dictate possession. He has also played as a centre-back at previous stages of his career, making the position familiar to him.
But there is a major question mark! 👀 Frenkie has only recently returned from a lengthy knee injury and has yet to feature this season. Throwing him into a high-pressure Champions League encounter in an unfamiliar role would be a huge decision from Flick. 😳⚔️
🌟 ÀLEX CAMPOS: COULD BARÇA’S YOUNGSTER GET HIS BIG BREAK? 🔵🔴
There is another possibility that could excite Barcelona supporters!
Eighteen-year-old Àlex Campos has been called up from Barça Atlètic to strengthen the first team following the defensive injuries. The young centre-back now has an opportunity to make his senior debut on one of European football’s biggest stages.
Imagine making your first-team breakthrough against PSG! 🤯🔥 It would be a massive test, but also a potentially unforgettable moment in his career.
Flick must decide whether to trust the youngster, move a midfielder into defence or find another solution within his available squad.
🚑 BARÇA’S INJURY PROBLEMS COULD NOT HAVE COME AT A WORSE TIME!
Jules Koundé and Eric García suffered injuries against Real Betis, while Andreas Christensen is also unavailable. Gerard Martín has had fitness concerns, leaving Flick with difficult decisions as he prepares for the trip to Paris.
With Pau Cubarsí among the available defensive options, Barcelona need to find the right partner for him without compromising the team’s balance.
And the pressure does not end with PSG! The upcoming El Clásico against Real Madrid makes this a particularly demanding period for the Catalan giants. 😰🔥
⚔️ PSG VS BARCELONA: ONE NIGHT, HUGE PRESSURE!
PSG will be looking to exploit any weaknesses, and Barça cannot afford to lose their defensive organisation. Flick will need his players to communicate, stay disciplined and remain composed when the pressure comes.
Could Rodri provide the experience needed? Could Frenkie surprise everyone by stepping into defence? Or will Flick hand Àlex Campos the opportunity of a lifetime? 👀💥
One thing is certain: Culés will be watching this selection decision very closely!
