Florian Wirtz is showing exactly why Liverpool invested so heavily in his talent, but there is one frustrating problem that is stopping his brilliance from turning into even bigger numbers!
The 23-year-old playmaker has reportedly created more chances than any other Premier League player this season, proving that his vision, creativity and ability to unlock stubborn defences are already making a huge impact.
Yet, despite all that creativity, Liverpool have struggled to convert enough of those opportunities into assists for the German superstar. His teammates have had chances to finish off his excellent passes, but too many promising moves have failed to produce the goals Wirtz deserves.
The numbers speak for themselves! Wirtz has created 20 chances in seven Premier League appearances, putting him ahead of his closest rivals in the chance-creation rankings.
His recent performance against Brentford was another reminder of what he can offer. Wirtz created nine chances in that match and delivered a brilliant assist for Víctor Muñoz as Liverpool fought back to secure a 2-1 victory. That display showed his creativity can make a real difference when the team gives him the right support.
The bigger question now is whether Liverpool can build a stronger connection between Wirtz and their attacking players. With runners making intelligent movements, better finishing inside the box and more consistent attacking combinations, his creativity could become even more dangerous.
Liverpool supporters have every reason to be excited. Wirtz is finding ways to open up defences, and his recent performance suggests that his understanding with his teammates is improving. The goals and assists could follow if the team continues to take advantage of the opportunities he creates.
Florian Wirtz is doing his part. Now Liverpool must make his m
agic count!
