Barcelona are continuing to explore a potential move for Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni, who remains one of their priority targets as they plan to strengthen their defence.
Discussions with the Italian defender’s representatives are reportedly ongoing, suggesting that Barça are still working behind the scenes to understand the possibility of bringing him to Camp Nou.
However, Bastoni wants one important thing before making any final decision. The 27-year-old reportedly wants to speak directly with Hansi Flick to understand his vision, the role he would play in the team and how he fits into Barcelona’s long-term project.
The defender wants clarity about his position and responsibilities before committing himself to a new challenge.
Barcelona view Bastoni as a potential defensive leader who could bring experience, composure, quality in possession and tactical intelligence to Flick’s backline.
The coming weeks could be important as both sides continue assessing whether a deal is realistic.
Imagine Bastoni alongside Pau Cubarsí in Barcelona’s defence! That would certainly be an exciting partnership for the future! 🔥🔵🔴
