🚨 BIG NEWS FROM STAMFORD BRIDGE! Chelsea’s young goalkeeper Mike Penders has officially been nominated for the Premier League’s Coca-Cola Save of the Month award for October 2026! 👏💙
And honestly, this nomination is no surprise after the sensational performance he delivered against Manchester United! 😱
The 21-year-old Belgian goalkeeper produced a breathtaking fingertip save to deny Bryan Mbeumo’s powerful long-range effort during Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over the Red Devils. With the game approaching its closing moments, Mbeumo unleashed a dangerous strike that looked destined to trouble the net.
But Penders had other plans! 🧤💥
With lightning-fast reflexes, incredible agility and perfect timing, the Chelsea youngster stretched out his fingertips and diverted the ball onto the crossbar. It was a moment of pure goalkeeping brilliance that left fans stunned!
That save was more than just a highlight. It preserved Penders’ first Premier League clean sheet as Chelsea’s starting goalkeeper and demonstrated the enormous potential he possesses. 💪🔵
What makes the story even sweeter is how Penders responded to adversity. After a difficult afternoon against Tottenham, where an unfortunate own goal contributed to Chelsea’s defeat, the young goalkeeper bounced back with determination and character.
He followed that setback with impressive performances against Liverpool and Manchester United, proving that he has the mentality to recover from difficult moments. 👏🔥
Now, the spotlight is firmly on him!
Penders faces competition from five other outstanding goalkeepers: Walter Benítez, Dean Henderson, Bart Verbruggen, Christian Walton and Zion Suzuki. The award will be decided through a combination of public voting and a panel of football experts.
Chelsea supporters have until Monday, November 9, to cast their votes, with the winner expected to be announced on November 13. 🏆
But let’s be honest, Blues…
That fingertip save against Manchester United was absolutely outrageous! 🤯
Do you think Mike Penders deserves to win the October Save of the Month award? Or did another goalkeeper produce an even better save?
