One stadium, one painful memory, and another massive battle waiting for Barcelona! ❤️💙
Let’s rewind to that unforgettable Champions League quarter-final second leg when Hansi Flick’s Barcelona travelled to Atlético Madrid with everything to fight for.
Despite the pressure, Barça came out with fire in their eyes! 🔥
⚽ Just four minutes into the game, teenage sensation Lamine Yamal silenced the Metropolitano with a brilliant opening goal!
⚽ Ferran Torres doubled Barcelona’s advantage in the 24th minute, putting Atlético under serious pressure.
But Diego Simeone’s men refused to surrender. Ademola Lookman pulled one back in the 31st minute, making the contest even more dramatic.
Then came the heartbreaking moment. Eric García received a red card in the 79th minute, leaving Barcelona with ten men during the closing stages.
Barcelona won the night 2-1, but Atlético Madrid advanced 3-2 on aggregate. What a painful European exit! 💔
BUT NOW, THE STORY CONTINUES! 👀🔥
This Sunday, November 8, Barcelona return to the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, and this time, the battle is for LaLiga supremacy!
The stakes couldn’t be higher. Barcelona are sitting at the top of the table with 30 points, while Atlético Madrid are breathing down their necks with 28 points. A victory for Simeone’s side would see them overtake Barça! 😳
And look at the contrasting European results!
🔵🔴 Barcelona demolished Aston Villa 3-0, showing their attacking quality and confidence.
🔴⚪ Atlético Madrid suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Bayern Munich.
Barcelona also arrive after destroying Alavés 6-1 in LaLiga. Flick’s attacking machine is beginning to look frightening again! 💥
However, Atlético are no pushovers. Simeone’s men have won seven consecutive league matches, and playing at home gives them another reason to believe. FC Barcelona +2
There is also a major concern for Barcelona: midfielder Rodri has been ruled out after suffering a hamstring injury against Aston Villa. Reuters
But one thing is certain: Barça have already shown they can win at this stadium. They know what it takes, and they will be desperate to turn another big performance into three precious points.
Can Lamine Yamal produce another magical performance? Will Raphinha make the difference? Can Pedri control the midfield and help Barcelona silence Simeone’s army? 🤔🔥
THE METROPOLITANO IS WAITING, BUT BARÇA ARE NOT GOING THERE TO BE FRIENDLY! 😈
Can we do it again this Sunday?
ABSOLUTELY! WE BELIEVE! 💪❤️💙
