The referee’s decision to issue a straight red card to Bellingham for a verbal offense caused outrage, and matters worsened when Osasuna equalized with a penalty in the 58th minute. The penalty was awarded following another contentious call, with Eduardo Camavinga judged to have made contact with Ante Budimir after the striker had already taken the shot.
Although Real Madrid had multiple opportunities to reclaim the lead, Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior were unable to score.
The draw marked Real Madrid’s third consecutive La Liga match without a win, opening the door for Atlético Madrid and Barcelona to challenge for the title.
