Vela, who previously played for Arsenal between 2005 and 2012, will be a familiar yet intriguing addition to the squad. However, the 35-year-old Mexican international has not played in the Premier League for over six years and has spent that time in Major League Soccer.
While his return could be a sentimental one for fans, his age and recent MLS form may raise questions about his ability to perform at the highest level in England.
Arsenal’s Striker Dilemma
With no new striker signed during the winter transfer window, Arsenal is left with limited options to replace Havertz.
