Roberto Firmino is reportedly close to a surprising move to Arsenal, as the Gunners look for solutions to their striker shortage.

The former Liverpool star has now reached a full verbal agreement with Arsenal, and the transfer is edging closer to completion.

Arsenal’s striker dilemma has been worsened by a series of injuries, with key players like Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Jesus all sidelined. As a result, Mikel Arteta had to deploy Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri, and Raheem Sterling as his attacking trio in a recent match against Leicester City.

However, despite struggling for the first 70 minutes, Arteta’s late substitution of Mikel Merino proved to be a masterstroke, as the player netted two goals to secure a win.

Now, Firmino’s potential arrival could be the unexpected answer to Arsenal’s attacking issues, offering valuable experience and versatility to Arteta’s squad.
