PSG Coach Calls First Leg ‘Unfair’ and Warns Liverpool After ‘Strange’ Defeat
Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has criticized the outcome of the first leg, claiming his team was incredibly unlucky not to come away with a victory.
Despite PSG’s loss, Enrique remained confident about his side’s ability to overturn the deficit, as the Parisians trail 1-0 after a late goal from Harvey Elliott secured a narrow win for Liverpool at the Parc des Princes.
The match featured an impressive performance by Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson, who made several crucial saves to deny PSG’s Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué, keeping the Reds ahead despite PSG’s dominance.
Luis Enrique Optimistic About PSG’s Chances
Though PSG suffered a setback, Enrique is convinced they can turn things around in the return leg at Anfield. He voiced his frustration with the result, saying:
“A comeback at Anfield? Definitely—we’ll do it. The result was completely unfair. They had just one shot and scored. Their best player was the goalkeeper. It felt a bit strange. I’m proud of my team—we were clearly better than Liverpool.”
While Liverpool has had a strong season, this wasn’t their best performance. PSG controlled much of the match, and without Alisson’s heroics, the score could have been very different.
