Liverpool fans can breathe a sigh of relief as both Alisson Becker and Ryan Gravenberch are expected to be available for the upcoming Merseyside derby against Everton on April 2.
The duo picked up injury concerns while on international duty, raising fears of potential absences. Gravenberch withdrew from the Netherlands squad before their Nations League quarterfinal against Spain after sustaining an injury during Liverpool’s Carabao Cup final loss to Newcastle United on March 16. Despite initially joining the Dutch camp, he returned to Merseyside for precautionary assessment.
Alisson, meanwhile, was forced off in Brazil’s 2-1 win over Colombia after colliding with Davinson Sánchez in the 78th minute. Under FIFA’s concussion protocols, he missed Brazil’s game against Argentina and returned to Liverpool for further evaluation.
However, according to journalist Lewis Steele, both players have avoided serious injuries and are set to feature against Everton. Gravenberch’s withdrawal was merely precautionary, and he even took a short holiday as a sign of his well-being. Alisson also reassured fans via Instagram that he is fine, with his return being part of standard head injury guidelines.
With nine games remaining in the Premier League season, their availability will be crucial as Liverpool push for their second league title in five years.
