This decision comes after Jules Koundé’s standout performance in the final, where he not only impressed defensively but also scored the winning goal in extra time. Koundé’s display confirmed what many at Barcelona already believed — that he is among the world’s top full-backs. His contributions throughout the season have convinced Laporta and coach Hansi Flick that external reinforcements in this position are unnecessary, allowing the club to redirect funds to other areas in greater need of strengthening.
