Ralf Rangnick’s Response to the Question: ‘What’s Going Wrong at Manchester United?’

At the start of the season, there was plenty of hope surrounding Manchester United. Backed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the club invested close to £200 million on new signings, including Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Joshua Zirkzee.
Despite these additions, United underperformed, and Erik ten Hag was dismissed following a string of disappointing results—even though he had recently signed a new deal. Ruben Amorim, with an impressive resume from his time at Sporting CP, was brought in to turn things around.
Unfortunately, things have gone from bad to worse. Under Amorim’s leadership, United have continued to decline and are now languishing in 14th place in the Premier League. With only 39 points from 34 games, they’re heading toward what could be their worst season in the league’s history.
