Liverpool are one of several European clubs interested in signing Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa, according to journalist Santi Aouna. Alongside the Reds, French club Lille and Premier League rivals Chelsea are reportedly keen on the 22-year-old, who has been in excellent form this season, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 23 appearances across all competitions.
However, Aouna suggests that Liverpool may have to wait until the summer to make a more serious move for Moussa, as Feyenoord are unwilling to let go of the talented Algerian in January despite growing interest. While it’s more likely that star striker Santiago Gimenez will leave, Moussa is expected to remain with the club until the end of the season after signing a long-term contract last summer.
Moussa has also caught the eye of Feyenoord’s manager, Arne Slot, who arrived at Liverpool just before the Algerian winger joined Feyenoord. The Reds are reportedly eager to bolster their attacking options, having already secured Federico Chiesa earlier in the season. With Moussa tied to Feyenoord until 2029, the Dutch club will be in a strong position to negotiate next summer.
A natural right-winger, Moussa is known for his versatility and can play in several attacking roles, including left wing and attacking midfield.
Recently, he’s been in superb form in the Champions League, scoring in three consecutive matches, including a goal in the 3-3 draw with Manchester City in December.
Liverpool have yet to make any signings in January and are not expected to be active in the transfer market as the deadline approaches.
The club’s primary focus remains on resolving the futures of key players like Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, all of whom have contracts expiring in under six months.
