Football in England: The Big News – Real Madrid Has Already Taken Action to Secure the Next Kroos

Martin Zubimendi has been identified by Real Madrid’s management as the player to strengthen their midfield.

Real Madrid has begun talks to sign Zubimendi, the Real Sociedad midfielder widely regarded as the potential successor to Toni Kroos.

Zubimendi’s tactical acumen, passing accuracy, and ability to control the tempo of the game have made him one of Europe’s most sought-after midfielders.

Arsenal has been tracking Zubimendi for a while, with Mikel Arteta viewing him as the perfect addition to bolster his midfield alongside Declan Rice.

However, Real Madrid is eager not to miss out and has ramped up negotiations to move ahead of the English club.

Zubimendi is contracted to Real Sociedad until 2027 with a 60 million euro release clause. While the Basque club prefers to keep him, they are open to negotiations for the right offer.

Real Madrid’s Approach
According to Defensa Central, Madrid is prepared to offer 45 million euros and include a player in the deal. Gonzalo García, a forward from Castilla who is highly rated by Real Sociedad, is one potential inclusion.

Nevertheless, Real Madrid does not want to completely part with Gonzalo, so they would aim to include a buyback clause or some form of future control over his situation.

The New Kroos, Possibly Even Better Than Rodri
In England, Zubimendi is often compared to Rodri, Manchester City’s key player, with some suggesting that the Real Sociedad star has even greater potential. His game vision and composure on the ball have attracted attention from top European clubs.

Madrid sees Zubimendi as a strategic investment, particularly with Kroos already retired and Modric possibly nearing the end of his career. Florentino Pérez aims to strengthen the midfield with a player who could define the club’s next era.

Discussions are underway, and Madrid is working to finalize the deal before Arsenal increases its offer. If successful, Zubimendi could become Real Madrid’s first signing for the 2025/26 season.
