BREAKING: Kevin De Bruyne Linked with Shock Move to Liverpool as He Confirms Man City Exit

The Premier League is witnessing a major shift, and not just at Liverpool, where the futures of stars like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Mo Salah are uncertain. Alexander-Arnold is reportedly nearing a move to Real Madrid, while talks continue with Van Dijk and Salah.

Amid these developments, Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne has officially announced that the 2024/25 season will be his final one with the club. The six-time Premier League winner has been a key figure during Cityโ€™s dominance in recent years.

With his departure confirmed, thereโ€™s speculation about his next move. Though Liverpool fans likely wonโ€™t miss facing the Belgian maestro, his absence will certainly weaken Cityโ€™s attacking power. Despite no longer being in his prime, De Bruyneโ€™s creativity and passing ability remain unmatched.

Belgian journalist Filip Joos has stirred up conversation by fantasizing about a stunning move to Liverpoolโ€”or even Manchester United. While Joos admits such a move is unlikely, he compares the scenario to Johan Cruyffโ€™s shocking transfer from Ajax to rival Feyenoord.

โ€œIโ€™d love to see De Bruyne at Liverpool or United,โ€ Joos said, โ€œbut it probably wonโ€™t happen. He deserves to choose a path that suits him now.โ€

De Bruyne was a pivotal figure in Pep Guardiolaโ€™s reign at City. Interestingly, Jurgen Klopp once tried to sign him during his time at Borussia Dortmund. Despite City’s dominance, De Bruyne only managed five wins against Liverpool and struggled in recent meetings, particularly in February when Liverpool did the double over City.

Reflecting on his time at the Etihad, Joos praised De Bruyneโ€™s willingness to take risks on the field. Unlike many under Guardiola, De Bruyne was allowed the creative freedom to make bold playsโ€”even if it meant occasionally losing possession.

โ€œThat freedom made him special,โ€ Joos concluded. โ€œItโ€™s a mark of true greatness that Guardiola trusted him to take those chances.โ€
