UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett has issued a harsh warning to Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, urging him not to attend the club’s Premier League title celebration. The statement comes after Alexander-Arnold confirmed his intention to leave Liverpool at the end of the season to join Real Madrid as a free agent.
While his departure wasn’t unexpected—given months of speculation and reports linking him with a move to Spain—it still disappointed many Liverpool supporters. The backlash became apparent when fans at Anfield booed him during a match against Arsenal, even though teammates like Mohamed Salah felt the criticism was unjust.
However, Pimblett firmly disagrees and expressed strong views in an interview with ESPN. He criticized Alexander-Arnold for allegedly misleading fans and lacking sincerity in his farewell message, calling it emotionless and scripted. Pimblett accused the right-back of forgetting his local roots and claimed he no longer represents what it means to be a true “scouser.”
“Players like Salah and Van Dijk have shown more loyalty and honesty,” Pimblett said. “Trent knew he was leaving but stayed quiet. Now he wants a send-off? No chance. If he shows up to the parade, he’ll ruin it.”
For a player who’s spent his entire career at Liverpool and achieved significant success, this sour ending is likely not what Alexander-Arnold had hoped for.
