Manchester United Prepare Final Bid for Bryan Mbeumo
Manchester United are preparing to make a final offer of £60 million to sign Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo. Their previous bid—£45 million upfront with £10 million in add-ons—was turned down by Brentford, but the revised proposal includes £55 million plus £5 million in bonuses.
Brentford value the Cameroon international at £60 million, and United are hopeful that this improved offer will be enough to secure the transfer. Mbeumo, who is keen on a move to Old Trafford, has reportedly already agreed to personal terms, with a proposed £200,000-per-week salary on a five-year deal (plus an optional extra year).
If the deal goes through, Mbeumo would be United’s second signing of the summer, following the £62.5 million acquisition of Matheus Cunha from Wolves. United manager Ruben Amorim is eager to strengthen the squad’s attack after they finished last season with just 44 league goals, the second-lowest among non-relegated teams.
Despite missing out on Champions League football after a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final, United have not struggled to attract top talent. Mbeumo scored 20 goals and provided 8 assists for Brentford last season and is seen as a major attacking upgrade.
United are planning to fund more signings through player sales, with several names—Antony, Garnacho, Rashford, Sancho, and Malacia—potentially on the way out. The club aims to generate up to £150 million from departures to add to their existing transfer budget.
However, if Brentford reject this final offer, United are expected to walk away from the deal.
