Manchester United Pursue Hugo Ekitike as Striker Reinforcements Take Shape

Ekitike, 22, is being tracked by other top English clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea, but United are pushing ahead after failing to land Viktor Gyökeres.
Frankfurt reportedly want €100 million (£84 million) for the French striker, who had a standout season with 22 goals and 12 assists. Ekitike’s blend of scoring, creativity, and dynamic play has earned comparisons to Kylian Mbappé, with analysts like Ben Mattinson calling him one of Europe’s top young forwards.
Statistically, Ekitike outshines Højlund across key metrics: more goals (0.51 vs 0.30 per 90), more assists (0.29 vs 0.06), and more shot-creating actions (3.50 vs 2.07). He also excels in dribbling and progressive play, making him a better fit for Amorim’s high-intensity system.
Should United land Ekitike alongside Cunha and Mbeumo, they could field a dynamic and well-balanced front line capable of revitalizing the team’s attack. Ekitike appears to be a major priority as the club looks to return to top form this summer
