Al-Nassr are in advanced negotiations with Manchester United over the potential signing of Casemiro.
Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr, who currently feature global stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, are reportedly in advanced stages of talks with Manchester United over a deal to sign Brazilian midfielder Casemiro. The 32-year-old, a five-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid, joined United in the summer of 2022 for a fee of around £70 million, bringing with him experience, leadership, and a winning mentality.
Casemiro had a strong first season at Old Trafford, playing a crucial role in helping Manchester United secure a Carabao Cup victory, a top-four Premier League finish, and a place in the FA Cup final. However, his second season was marred by injuries and inconsistent form, leading to speculation about his long-term future at the club.
With Manchester United now under a new sporting structure led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, the club is believed to be open to offloading some high-earning, aging players in an effort to refresh the squad and reduce the wage bill. Casemiro, reportedly earning around £350,000 per week, is among those whose departure could free up significant financial resources.
Al-Nassr, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), have been aggressively targeting top European talent as part of the country’s broader strategy to elevate the profile of its domestic league. Signing a player of Casemiro’s pedigree would further that ambition and reunite him with former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
No deal has been finalized yet, but the negotiations are said to be progressing positively, and a formal agreement could be reached soon, depending on personal terms and Manchester United’s final approval. If completed, Casemiro would become one of the latest elite players to make the switch to the Saudi Pro League.
