Arsenal Sign Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea for £5m

Kepa Arrizabalaga has officially joined Arsenal from Chelsea in a £5 million deal. The 30-year-old Spanish goalkeeper arrives as backup to David Raya, though he is reportedly eager to compete for the starting role.

Manager Mikel Arteta highlighted Kepa’s “winning mentality” and wealth of experience as key reasons behind the signing. Arteta believes Kepa will raise the team’s standards and settle in quickly due to familiarity with several players.

Sporting director Andrea Berta echoed the sentiment, describing Kepa as a proven winner and a valuable addition during what he calls an exciting period for the club.

Kepa will wear the No.13 jersey and join the squad for pre-season training, with a trip to Singapore scheduled for July 19 as part of Arsenal’s Asian tour.

The signing marks another step in Arsenal’s active summer, with further transfers expected as the club looks to build a squad capable of winning major titles.
