Bayern Munich Still Pursuing Luis Diaz Despite Liverpool’s Hesitation
Bayern Munich are stepping up their pursuit of Luis Diaz, even though Liverpool remain firm on keeping the Colombian winger.
While The Athletic reports that Liverpool have no intention of selling the 28-year-old this summer, German journalist Christian Falk claims Bayern have already submitted two offers for Diaz. The Colombian is said to be open to the move, with reports suggesting he has agreed to personal terms on a four-year deal worth €14 million (£12.1 million) annually. However, Liverpool are unlikely to entertain any offers below €80 million (£69.2 million).
Bayern Hopeful of Face-to-Face Talks
Despite Liverpool’s current stance, Bayern remain hopeful. Falk stated that the German champions are “confident” that a formal meeting with Liverpool will happen soon, aimed at negotiating Diaz’s transfer.
Diaz’s Future at Liverpool Still Unclear Despite Strong 2024/25
Diaz was a crucial part of Liverpool’s Premier League title-winning season, scoring 13 goals. However, under new head coach Arne Slot, his place in the starting XI is not guaranteed. With Cody Gakpo outperforming him in front of goal and Liverpool actively pursuing strikers like Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak, Diaz may face increased competition.
If Diaz pushes for a move, Slot might be willing to let him go—though doing so alongside a potential Darwin Núñez departure could pose a serious gamble for the Reds.
At Bayern, Diaz would be up against Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman for a place on the left wing, but sources believe he’s confident of earning a starting spot under Vincent Kompany.
A bid in the region of £70 million might be enough to sway Liverpool’s position. Still, fans are hopeful that Diaz remains at Anfield to continue his stellar form next season.
