What a difference a season makes. The six players Barcelona brought in during the summer of 2023 a window meant to strengthen the squad for years to come have almost all moved on already.
João Cancelo Now starring for Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
João Félix Took his talents to Al Nassr, joining the Cristiano Ronaldo project.
İlkay Gündoğan Returned to Manchester City, the club he left just a year ago.
Vitor Roque Sent back to Palmeiras, never really given the chance to settle.
Oriol Romeu On the verge of leaving after just a single season in Blaugrana colours.
Iñigo Martínez Also joined Al Nassr, becoming part of their growing La Liga exodus.
Incredibly, within 12 months, Barça have either lost or are on the verge of losing every single signing from that summer. A recruitment plan that was supposed to shape the club’s future now looks like one of the most short-lived overhauls in modern football.
For the fans, it raises uncomfortable questions about the club’s scouting, planning, and long-term vision.
