Arsenal are reportedly in active discussions over a potential move for a highly rated £65 million attacker, but they face strong competition from Chelsea, who are also well placed to push the deal through.
Reports from CaughtOffside suggest that both Premier League clubs are closely monitoring Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, with the two London rivals emerging as the leading contenders for his signature.
Yildiz joined Juventus on a free transfer from Bayern Munich in 2022 and has since risen rapidly within the club despite earning a modest salary compared to several senior players. Over the past year, he has developed into one of Juventus’ most decisive performers, regularly influencing matches with his creativity and end product.
The Turkish international made his first-team debut in August 2023 during a comfortable away win against Udinese before announcing himself in emphatic fashion later that year. He scored on his first senior start in December, opening the scoring in a narrow victory over Frosinone, a moment that underlined his growing importance to the Bianconeri.
Since then, Yildiz has cemented his place in the squad and gained widespread recognition as one of the brightest young attacking talents in Europe. His progress was further acknowledged with a nomination on the shortlist for the 2025 Golden Boy Award.
The teenager has carried that momentum into the current campaign, registering six goals and six assists in 21 appearances across all competitions. Those performances have inevitably attracted interest from several elite clubs, with Arsenal and Chelsea leading the chase in England.
According to the report, negotiations between Juventus and the player over a new contract have stalled, opening the door for potential suitors. Chelsea remain keen after seeing a £61 million offer rejected last summer, and the club continues to view Yildiz as an ideal fit for its long-term, youth-driven recruitment model.
Under Enzo Maresca, Chelsea believe they hold a strong advantage due to their close relationship with the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, which could prove decisive if talks progress.
Arsenal, however, are far from out of the race. The Gunners are said to be firmly in the mix and have already made direct contact with Yildiz’s representatives. Mikel Arteta reportedly sees the forward’s technical quality, versatility, and intelligence as a natural fit for his tactical system.
While Yildiz’s reported wage demands of around £5 million per year appear compatible with Chelsea’s performance-based salary structure, Juventus are expected to demand a fee above his current £65 million valuation.
That stance could work in Arsenal’s favor, particularly as Chelsea have recently shown greater restraint in the transfer market, having previously stepped back from pursuing high-profile targets such as Xavi Simons and Victor Osimhen
