Tonali is obviously a top player and you can see why a manager would want him in midfield. He plays with confidence, works hard off the ball, and feels like someone who could handle the pressure at United. But with the kind of money being mentioned, fans are naturally going to expect him to completely transform the midfield straight away.
At the same time, Ederson feels like the type of signing that could immediately surprise people if given the chance. Different profile, different risk, maybe even better value depending on the fee.
