Liverpool’s pursuit of one of their top attacking targets has taken another major twist after the player’s reported asking price increased significantly.
According to The Redmen TV’s Luke, Paris Saint-Germain have now placed a staggering €150 million valuation on highly-rated winger Bradley Barcola. The new price represents a substantial increase from earlier reports, which suggested the French club could consider offers in the region of €115–130 million.
The dramatic rise in valuation could force Liverpool to carefully reassess their transfer strategy as they continue searching for reinforcements out wide. While Barcola remains one of the club’s most admired attacking options, PSG’s latest stance makes any potential deal considerably more difficult.
Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola is understood to be relaxed about the pace of the club’s summer recruitment. With many players only recently returning from international duty following the World Cup, the Spaniard was informed that most transfer business was unlikely to be completed before Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the United States.
Rather than viewing the delay as a setback, Iraola plans to use the tour as an opportunity to closely evaluate several academy prospects while continuing to assess the squad and identify any remaining areas that require strengthening before the transfer window closes.
