Manchester United’s academy continues to produce gems, and one youngster has now caught the attention of the opposition after the Red Devils’ dominant 5-0 pre-season victory over Rosenborg. The Norwegian side’s coach was full of admiration for one United academy star whose performance lit up the match and left a lasting impression. 🔥🔴
The player earning widespread praise was Shea Lacey, whose exciting display showcased exactly why he is regarded as one of the brightest talents to emerge from Carrington in recent years. The teenage attacker played with incredible confidence, combining dazzling footwork, intelligent movement, and fearless attacking intent to trouble Rosenborg throughout the first half.
Lacey crowned his brilliant performance with a superb opening goal, curling a stunning effort beyond the goalkeeper to give Manchester United the lead. His composure on the ball, creativity in tight spaces, and ability to dictate attacks immediately caught the eye, with many supporters believing they were watching a future first-team regular in action.
The praise didn’t stop with Lacey. Manchester United’s academy put on a spectacular show, with Jacob Devaney, Harry Amass, Ethan Williams, and Jaydan Kamason all making significant contributions as Carrick’s young stars completely overwhelmed the Norwegian outfit. Kamason registered two assists, Amass scored and provided an assist, while Devaney and Williams also found the net in a memorable night for Carrington’s next generation.
Michael Carrick was equally delighted with the youngsters after the match, praising their confidence, bravery, and willingness to express themselves against senior opposition. The United boss emphasized that the academy players showed exactly the mentality required to compete for future first-team opportunities.
The performance has only increased excitement among Manchester United supporters, many of whom believe Lacey and several of his academy teammates are ready to play much bigger roles during the upcoming season. Social media was flooded with praise for the teenager, with fans hailing his maturity, technical quality, and fearless approach despite his young age.
As Manchester United continue their pre-season preparations, one thing has become increasingly clear: the future at Old Trafford looks incredibly bright. If Shea Lacey continues developing at this pace, he could soon become the latest academy graduate to make a major impact on the first team, following in the footsteps of so many Carrington success stories. ⭐🔴
