Barcelona have started their home campaign with a huge statement, defeating Athletic Club 2-0 in front of the Camp Nou faithful! 🔵🔴🔥
The night had everything Barça fans wanted: intensity, attacking football, a clean sheet, brilliant individual moments and, most importantly, THREE POINTS! 😍🏆
Raphinha opened the scoring in the 37th minute after a sensational through ball from Pedri sent him racing through the Athletic defence. The Brazilian kept his composure, rounded Unai Simón and calmly found the net. ⚡️🇧🇷
Athletic tried to fight their way back into the contest, but Barça continued to control the tempo and create danger. Lamine Yamal came close, Pedri continued pulling the strings and the Catalans refused to take their foot off the accelerator. 🎯🔥
Then came the moment that sent the stadium into another celebration! 🙌💥 Karim Adeyemi’s low delivery caused chaos inside the box, Aymeric Laporte made a costly mistake and Fermín López pounced to make it 2-0 in the 82nd minute. ❤️💙
And there was another headline-maker: RODRI MADE HIS BARCELONA DEBUT! 🤯🔥 The new midfield maestro came on to a huge reception and immediately brought calmness, control and experience to the middle of the pitch.
The victory means Barça now have six points from their opening two LaLiga matches after following up the 5-0 demolition of Elche with another clean-sheet victory.
Two games. Two wins. Seven goals scored. ZERO conceded. 😳🔥
Hansi Flick’s Barça are sending an early warning to the rest of Spain: this team is hungry, confident and ready to defend its crown. 👑🔵🔴
The Camp Nou is alive again… and Barça are giving the fans plenty of reasons to believe! ❤️💙🔥
VISCA BARÇA! 🏆🔵🔴
