There are football statistics that make you stop, look twice and ask one simple question: How is this even possible at his age? 😳🇪🇸
Since the beginning of last season, Lamine Yamal has reportedly become the only player across Europe’s top five leagues to combine more than 100 chances created with at least 75 successful take-ons. 🪄⚡
That is an outrageous combination because it shows two completely different sides of his game. Yamal isn’t simply a winger who beats defenders, and he isn’t merely a creative player who stays deep and picks passes. He is doing both at an elite level. 🔥
The Barcelona superstar has developed into one of the most dangerous one-on-one players in European football. His ability to receive the ball, isolate a defender, change direction and suddenly burst into the box has become one of Barcelona’s biggest weapons. 🥶🔵🔴
And when defenders decide to give him space, that can be just as dangerous.
Yamal has the vision and technique to create opportunities for teammates from seemingly impossible positions. His 2025/26 La Liga campaign produced 16 goals and 11 assists, while his Champions League campaign added another six goals and four assists. 📊🚀
His creativity has also been backed up by the numbers. StatMuse records 71 chances created in La Liga during the 2025/26 campaign, while his Champions League numbers further underline how influential he became in the final third.
But perhaps the most frightening part of Yamal’s game is what happens when he starts running at defenders. 😮💨💨
He completed 133 take-ons in Europe’s top five leagues, putting him at the top of the charts for that statistic. That means defenders aren’t merely struggling to stop his final pass or shot. They are struggling to stop him from getting into dangerous positions in the first place.
And remember, this is a player who is still only 19 years old. 🤯
Barcelona are watching a player who has already accumulated a remarkable collection of records and milestones despite being so young. The club itself describes Yamal as a difference-maker and notes the numerous records he has already broken since emerging from La Masia.
The scary thing for the rest of Europe is that Yamal’s numbers don’t tell the entire story.
There is the creativity. 🎯
There is the dribbling. 🪄
There are the goals. ⚽
There are the assists. 🅰️
There is the confidence. 😤
And then there is that unbelievable ability to make defenders look completely helpless in one-on-one situations. 😭🔥
Barcelona don’t just have a talented young winger anymore.
They have a player who is increasingly becoming the main character of their attack. 👑🔵🔴
If Yamal continues developing at this rate, the conversation around him will quickly move beyond “future superstar”.
Because the frightening reality is this:
Lamine Yamal is already here. 🚨👑
