The debate is already heating up at Anfield! 🔴👀 With Bradley Barcola arriving as Liverpool’s latest attacking superstar, some fans are wondering whether the French winger should be trusted from the penalty spot or whether Dominik Szoboszlai should remain the man for the big moments.
For me, the answer is clear: DOMINIK SZOBOSZLAI. 🇭🇺🎯
The Hungarian midfielder has already delivered when Liverpool desperately needed him. Against Newcastle United, with the Reds staring at defeat in the dying moments, Szoboszlai stepped up and calmly buried a 99th-minute penalty to rescue a dramatic 2-2 draw. That is exactly the kind of pressure situation where penalty takers earn their reputation.
And there was something even more telling about that moment: Alexander Isak was on the pitch, yet Szoboszlai was the player trusted with the responsibility. Reports surrounding the decision indicate that the choice was deliberate rather than accidental.
Barcola, meanwhile, brings a completely different kind of danger. ⚡🔥 Liverpool have invested heavily in the 23-year-old French forward, reportedly agreeing a deal with PSG worth up to £123 million. He arrives with pace, explosiveness, creativity and a serious goal threat, making him one of the most exciting attacking additions to the squad.
But penalties are about more than attacking ability.
It’s about composure, technique, mentality and the courage to take responsibility when the entire stadium is holding its breath. 😮💨🎯
And right now, Szoboszlai has the strongest argument.
Imagine Liverpool winning a penalty in the 90th minute of a Champions League knockout match. Anfield is shaking. The pressure is enormous. Who do you want standing twelve yards from goal?
SZOBOSZLAI. 🇭🇺🔴
Barcola can become an elite penalty taker in the future, but there is no need to change something that is already working. Let the Frenchman terrorise defenders from open play while Szoboszlai handles the spot-kicks. 😮💨🔥

Barcola can wait his turn.
Szobo has already shown he has ice in his veins. 🥶🎯
