Liverpool could soon have a serious selection headache on the left side of their attack! 👀🔥
With Bradley Barcola closing in on a blockbuster move to Anfield, the competition for the starting left-wing position could become one of the most intriguing battles in the squad. Reports put Liverpool’s agreement for the PSG winger at around £120 million, underlining just how much the Reds value his pace, direct running and attacking explosiveness.
But here’s the twist… Cody Gakpo staying could actually make a LOT of sense. 😮💨🔴
Gakpo has already shown that he can operate from the left, where he has often looked most comfortable, but his versatility gives Liverpool something extra. He has also played as a central striker throughout his career, meaning he can provide cover in the No. 9 position when injuries or rotation become an issue.
And that could be extremely important with Liverpool managing a packed schedule. 💥🏆
Imagine having Barcola’s explosive pace and one-on-one ability competing with Gakpo’s size, finishing and versatility on the left. Instead of one player simply replacing the other, Liverpool could have two completely different weapons for different situations. 😳🔥
Gakpo has also started the new campaign brightly, providing the assist for Alexander Isak’s goal against Nottingham Forest in Liverpool’s latest Premier League match.
There is, however, a huge cloud hanging over his future. Manchester City and Tottenham have reportedly shown interest, while recent reports suggest City are pushing strongly for the Dutchman.
That makes the next few days absolutely fascinating. 👀⏳
Liverpool have already made a massive statement by bringing Barcola into the picture. But if they decide to KEEP GAKPO, they could have frightening depth across the front line. 🔴💣
Barcola on the left.
Gakpo on the left or through the middle.
Isak leading the line.
And plenty of attacking options waiting for their chance. 😮💨🔥
The competition for places at Anfield could be BRUTAL this season. 🥶🔴
Would you rather Liverpool keep Gakpo and create serious competition, or cash in while his value is high? 👀💬
