Manchester United’s hopes of landing Alejandro Balde appear to be fading, with Barcelona increasingly convinced that the Spanish left-back has no intention of walking away from the Camp Nou this summer. 👀🔥
Despite being left out of Barcelona’s opening match of the campaign and becoming the subject of intense Manchester United transfer speculation, Balde reportedly remains determined to stay and fight for his place under Hansi Flick.
That stance could be a HUGE blow to United. 🚨🔴
Manchester United have been actively searching for a new left-back and have been monitoring Balde as one of their potential solutions. Reports have indicated that United were considering an offer in the region of €30m to €40m, while Barcelona’s reported valuation has been higher.
But the player’s position appears to be the biggest obstacle.
Barcelona reportedly believe Balde will not change his mind about staying, even after being omitted from the squad for the opening league fixture. More recent reports have reinforced that the 22-year-old wants to remain in Catalonia and compete for his position.
And there has already been a dramatic change in his situation. 👀
After missing the opening game, Balde returned to the squad for Barcelona’s next fixture, with reports suggesting he had decided to stay and work his way back into Flick’s plans.
Flick and Balde have also reportedly reached something of a truce, with the Barcelona boss keen for the defender to demonstrate his commitment and fight to regain his starting role.
That is a very different picture from the one Manchester United were hoping to exploit.
United desperately need reinforcement at left-back, and Balde’s pace, attacking ability and experience at the highest level make him an extremely attractive option. The Red Devils have been monitoring his situation closely as they look for a long-term solution in the position.
But there is one massive problem…
Balde doesn’t appear to be asking to leave. 😳
The Barcelona academy graduate still has a long-term contract at the club, reportedly running until 2028, and his release clause has historically been set at an enormous figure.
So even if Manchester United were willing to meet Barcelona’s valuation, convincing the player could prove much harder.
United have already explored several alternatives as they race against the transfer deadline, but Balde remains an intriguing target because of his age and potential to become a long-term starter. 🔴🔥
For Barcelona, keeping Balde could also be a major victory.
The club appear increasingly comfortable with the idea of giving him another opportunity rather than rushing into a sale, especially if Flick believes the defender can rediscover his best form.
And now the pressure is firmly on Balde.
If he wants to remain at Barcelona, he must prove that decision on the pitch. 💪⚽
Manchester United may continue knocking.
Barcelona may continue listening.
But if Balde’s stance remains unchanged, Old Trafford could be waiting in vain. 😱🔴
The clock is ticking toward deadline day… and this transfer saga is FAR from boring! 🔥👀
