🚨 ERIC GARCÍA HIT BY ANOTHER NOSE INJURY AFTER FREAK RODRI COLLISION! 😰💔🔵🔴

Barcelona’s comfortable afternoon at Mestalla suddenly took an ugly turn when Eric García was forced off after an accidental collision with new teammate Rodri. 😨

The incident happened during a Barcelona corner, with both players battling for position inside Valencia’s penalty area. Rodri accidentally caught García in the face, leaving the defender in obvious pain and requiring immediate medical attention. García was unable to continue and was replaced by Jules Koundé before the half-hour mark.

What makes the situation particularly frustrating for Barça fans is García’s unfortunate history with the same area. The defender suffered a broken nose last season and spent a period wearing a protective mask. Reports from the Mestalla now indicate that the latest blow has resulted in another nasal injury, with a deviated septum being reported. 😭🩹

Talk about bad luck! 🤦‍♂️

There was absolutely no malicious intent from Rodri. It was simply one of those freak moments that can happen when several players are fighting for space during a set piece. Rodri, making his first Barcelona start, was also visibly frustrated by the unfortunate collision as García received treatment. 😔

For Hansi Flick, however, the injury created an unexpected defensive headache.

García had been handed a starting role at right-back, but his early departure meant Koundé had to come into the game much earlier than planned. With Barcelona already navigating a packed schedule and preparing for their Champions League campaign, Flick will be hoping the injury does not develop into a lengthy absence. 👀

There is at least one small silver lining. García was already suspended for Barcelona’s upcoming Champions League opener against Feyenoord, meaning he was unavailable for that European fixture regardless. That gives the defender some additional time to recover before Barça return to La Liga action against Levante.

Still, nobody at Barcelona will be taking the situation lightly.

García had only recently returned to the starting XI, and suffering another injury to the same vulnerable area is undoubtedly frustrating. If further examinations confirm the initial reports, the defender could once again find himself needing facial protection when he returns. 🩹😰

Meanwhile, Koundé’s introduction could prove important. The French defender now has an opportunity to step up at right-back, particularly with Barcelona facing a demanding run of fixtures across domestic and European competition.

For García, though, the message from the Barça family is simple:

Get well soon, Eric! 💙❤️🙏

One accidental collision was enough to turn an otherwise excellent afternoon into another worrying chapter in the defender’s unfortunate battle with nose injuries. 😭🔵🔴
