Marcus Rashford may have walked away from Everton without a goal, but make no mistake: this was a performance that demanded attention. 👀🔥
The Manchester United forward looked sharp, confident and dangerous throughout his 69 minutes on the pitch, repeatedly giving Everton’s defenders nightmares with his pace, movement and direct running. One player in particular, Merlin Röhl, struggled to contain him as Rashford repeatedly beat his man and opened up space for United.
💨 RASHFORD LOOKED LIKE A DIFFERENT PLAYER
There was an urgency about Rashford’s game. Instead of hesitating, he attacked defenders, carried the ball forward and looked eager to make things happen.
He produced three successful dribbles, created a chance and delivered two crosses, while his link-up with Luke Shaw on the left flank was one of United’s most promising attacking combinations. Michael Carrick also highlighted the connection between the pair after the match.
At one point, Rashford brilliantly skipped past Röhl before setting up Matheus Cunha, and he later created another opportunity with a clever lay-off. His ability to repeatedly get into dangerous positions was impossible to ignore. 🔥🎯
🗣️ Even during the match, BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone singled him out, noting that Rashford was causing Everton major problems.
And United fans certainly noticed.
After a difficult period away from Old Trafford, seeing Rashford once again playing with confidence and attacking intent has given supporters plenty of reason for excitement. His performance against Everton was widely praised, with fans reacting positively to the intensity and purpose he showed.
🚨 THE ONLY FRUSTRATION? THE SUBSTITUTION
Just when Rashford appeared to be growing into the contest, Carrick was forced to replace him in the 70th minute after the forward felt some discomfort.
Carrick later reassured supporters that the issue was nothing major, but the timing was certainly frustrating considering how influential Rashford had been.
United eventually took a 2-1 lead through Benjamin Šeško, only to be denied all three points by Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ stunning 96th-minute equaliser. 😩💔
But amid the disappointment, Rashford was one of the biggest positives. 🔴🔥
He didn’t need a goal to make his presence felt. The pace was there. The confidence was there. The aggression was there. The willingness to take defenders on was there.
And if this is a sign of what is coming next, Manchester United fans may finally be getting a glimpse of the Rashford they have been waiting to see again. 👀🔥
Marcus Rashford is looking dangerous again… and that could be very good news for Manchester United. 🔴⚡
