Barcelona have added another explosive weapon to their attack, with Gabriel Jesus arriving from Arsenal and taking the famous No.9 shirt for the 2026/27 campaign. The Brazilian has signed a deal running until June 2029, giving Hansi Flick another versatile forward for his attacking system.
And now the big question is… how does Gabriel Jesus fit into this frightening Barça attack? 👀🔥
A potential starting XI could look like this:
🧤 Joan García
🛡️ João Cancelo | Pau Cubarsí | Andreas Christensen | Alejandro Balde
⚙️ Rodri | Pedri | Fermín López
⚡ Lamine Yamal | Gabriel Jesus | Raphinha
Just look at that attack! 😱🔥
Lamine Yamal brings creativity, dribbling and unpredictability from the right, while Raphinha can provide goals, pressing and relentless movement from the opposite side. In the middle, Gabriel Jesus gives Flick a forward who can drop between the lines, combine with teammates and make aggressive runs behind defensive lines.
That versatility could be particularly valuable for Flick. Gabriel Jesus isn’t simply a traditional penalty-box striker. His ability to move across the frontline, press defenders and attack space makes him a potentially dangerous fit for Barcelona’s high-intensity football.
🔥 And the scary part? This isn’t even Barcelona’s only attacking combination!
The club’s official 2026/27 squad also includes Karim Adeyemi, Anthony Gordon, Dani Olmo and Roony Bardghji, giving Flick plenty of options to rotate his front line throughout a demanding season.
The midfield could be just as exciting. With Rodri joining Pedri and the likes of Fermín, Gavi, Dani Olmo and Frenkie de Jong available, Barcelona now have significantly more variety in how they can control matches.
And Barcelona aren’t hiding their ambition. Reports from Spain describe a summer of major investment, with the club bringing in players including Rodri, Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi, João Cancelo and Gabriel Jesus as they look to compete on every front.
💥 Imagine Flick having Yamal, Raphinha, Gabriel Jesus, Adeyemi, Gordon and Olmo all competing for attacking positions!
That is serious depth.
The Brazilian’s arrival also adds another layer of tactical flexibility. He can lead the line, drift wide, combine with Yamal and Raphinha or potentially operate in a more fluid front three.
🇧🇷 Gabriel Jesus
🇪🇸 Lamine Yamal
🇧🇷 Raphinha
🇪🇸 Pedri
🇪🇸 Fermín
🇪🇸 Rodri
🔥 BARÇA’S NEW ATTACK IS LOOKING SERIOUS!
The question now isn’t whether Barcelona have attacking options.
It’s which three does Hansi Flick trust when the biggest Champions League nights arrive? 👀🏆🔵🔴
