Manchester United are finally back where they belong as Champions League football returns to Old Trafford, and the pressure is already building around Michael Carrick’s team. 🔴🏆✨ After a frustrating 2-2 draw against Everton, United now have the perfect opportunity to respond strongly on the European stage against Sabah FK.
And one selection is grabbing plenty of attention… 👀🔥
Benjamin Šeško should start. 🇸🇮🎯
The summer signing made an immediate impact against Everton, coming off the bench to score a dramatic 88th-minute header and put United 2-1 ahead before the late equaliser ruined the night.
That cameo has only strengthened the argument that the Slovenian striker deserves a chance from the beginning against Sabah.
🔥 ŠEŠKO OVER CUNHA?
Matheus Cunha has shown flashes of quality since arriving at United, but his role as a false nine has not always produced the cutting edge supporters want. Against Everton, he struggled to make a consistent impact, while Šeško immediately offered something different with his movement, physical presence and aerial threat.
That difference could be massive against a Sabah side making its Champions League debut. 👊🌍
Šeško gives United a genuine reference point at centre-forward. He can attack crosses, stretch defenders with his pace and occupy the centre-backs, potentially creating more space for Bruno Fernandes, Bryan Mbeumo and the other attacking players to exploit. ⚡🎯
And United fans are clearly interested in seeing him get more minutes. A discussion among supporters ahead of the match has seen plenty of calls for Šeško to start, with some fans arguing that the striker needs consistent playing time to build rhythm and confidence. 👀🔴
🧨 THE PERFECT NIGHT FOR A STATEMENT
This isn’t just another fixture.
Manchester United are returning to the Champions League after a lengthy absence, while Sabah FK are appearing at this level for the first time. United therefore enter the match with enormous expectations, while Sabah arrive with nothing to lose after completing an impressive qualifying journey.
Carrick has already made it clear that United want to compete seriously in Europe rather than simply enjoy being back in the competition. 🏆🔥
That means there should be no room for complacency.
United need intensity. They need creativity. They need goals. And most importantly, they need to make Old Trafford feel like the European fortress it once was. 🏟️🔴
⚡ IMAGINE THIS ATTACK…
Šeško leading the line. 🎯
Mbeumo attacking from the right. ⚡
Rashford or another explosive option from the left. 💨
Bruno Fernandes pulling the strings behind them. 🎩🔥
That combination could give Sabah a serious headache.
Šeško’s presence could also encourage United to play more directly. Instead of relying heavily on intricate combinations around the edge of the box, United can put the ball into dangerous areas and trust their new striker to attack it. 💥⚽
And after watching Šeško rescue United against Everton before the heartbreaking late equaliser, supporters will be desperate to see what he can do with a full 90 minutes. 😤🔥
🔴 OLD TRAFFORD IS WAITING…
United have an opportunity to make a statement on their Champions League return.
No excuses.
No slow start.
No unnecessary drama.
Just intensity, attacking football and goals. 💪🔥
If Carrick wants to strengthen the lineup against Sabah, should Benjamin Šeško replace Matheus Cunha up front? 👀
Because after his instant impact against Everton, the Slovenian striker has certainly given United fans something to think about. 🇸🇮🔥🔴
