🔥 DORGU’S LEFT-BACK MASTERCLASS HAS GIVEN CARRICK A SERIOUS SELECTION HEADACHE! 👀🔴

Patrick Dorgu may have just opened another door in Michael Carrick’s Manchester United plans. 🇩🇰🔥

The Danish international stepped in at left-back during United’s 4–0 Champions League demolition of Sabah FK at Old Trafford, and his performance has already sparked a major conversation among supporters. Dorgu not only looked comfortable in the position, he also played a part in United’s opening goal as Matheus Cunha finished from his delivery.

And afterwards, Dorgu made his feelings crystal clear.

“It was good playing left back. I can play in several positions…”

That versatility could be incredibly important for Carrick. 👀

Dorgu was originally brought to Manchester United as a player capable of operating across the left side, and his ability to function as a full-back, wing-back or winger gives the manager plenty of tactical flexibility.

But against Sabah, there was something particularly interesting about seeing him at left-back.

With Luke Shaw rested after recently experiencing cramp, Carrick decided to give Dorgu the opportunity to fill the position. Rather than looking overwhelmed, the 21-year-old embraced the responsibility and helped United produce a clean-sheet performance on their return to Europe’s biggest competition.

For Dorgu, it was also a huge personal occasion.

It was his Champions League debut, and he marked it with an assist, an energetic performance and a comfortable 4–0 victory. 💪🏾⭐

That is exactly the type of performance a young player needs when trying to convince a manager that he deserves more opportunities.

Dorgu’s journey at United has already had plenty of twists. Since arriving from Lecce, he has had to adapt to English football while competing for minutes and learning different tactical demands. His versatility has always been one of his biggest strengths, but performances like this could help him establish a clearer role. 🔴⚡

And now comes the really interesting question…

Could left-back actually become Dorgu’s best route into Carrick’s regular starting XI? 🤔

There is certainly an argument for it.

His pace allows him to recover quickly, his physicality makes him difficult to bully, and his willingness to attack gives United another outlet from deep. His contribution to Cunha’s opener against Sabah showed exactly what can happen when he gets forward and delivers quality into dangerous areas. 🎯🔥

United also need players capable of handling a demanding schedule, especially now that Champions League football has returned to Old Trafford. Having someone who can cover several positions gives Carrick another valuable weapon when injuries, fatigue or tactical changes become an issue. 💥

And the timing could not be more interesting.

United have a huge Manchester derby coming up, meaning Dorgu’s latest display could hardly have arrived at a better moment. Carrick now has another option to consider as he prepares his team for one of the biggest fixtures of the season. 👀🔥

The 4–0 victory over Sabah was ultimately about much more than just the scoreline. Cunha, Bruno Fernandes, Benjamin Šeško and Lisandro Martínez all found the net, United kept a clean sheet and several players strengthened their claims for regular involvement.

But Dorgu quietly walked away with something else…

A statement. 😤🔴

He showed Carrick that he is comfortable playing at left-back, that he can contribute offensively from the position and, most importantly, that he is ready whenever the manager calls.

Now it is up to Carrick to decide whether this was simply a one-night experiment or the beginning of a new chapter for Dorgu. 👀

Because if the youngster continues producing performances like this, leaving him out could become a very difficult decision.

United fans, what did you make of Dorgu at left-back? 🔴👇
