The Reds have already shown signs of improvement under new head coach Andoni Iraola, but their league campaign has not been completely smooth. After two opening draws, Liverpool finally picked up their first Premier League victory with a 2-0 win over Ipswich before earning a dramatic 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.
Now comes Fulham… and they have plenty to prove. 😳
😱 FULHAM ARE STRUGGLING… BUT THAT MAKES THEM DANGEROUS
Álvaro Arbeloa’s Fulham have suffered three consecutive Premier League defeats, losing to Sunderland, Chelsea and Crystal Palace. They have also conceded seven goals in those three matches.
But the numbers don’t tell the entire story.
Fulham have shown attacking ambition and created plenty of chances despite their poor results. Arbeloa has admitted that his side’s biggest problem has been conceding goals too easily.
That means Liverpool cannot afford to switch off.
🔥 IRAOLA HAS HIS OWN PROBLEMS
Liverpool have also had concerns in attack ahead of the fixture.
Cody Gakpo has been dealing with an adductor issue, while Federico Chiesa has a back problem. Bradley Barcola also went off during the Champions League victory over Atlético Madrid, although his issue was reported to be cramp rather than a serious injury.
The Reds did, however, get a huge boost in Europe, beating Atlético Madrid 2-1 after goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister. 💥🏆
😳 AND NOW FULHAM ARE COMING TO ANFIELD…
This is where things get interesting.
Fulham may be sitting on three league defeats, but Liverpool know better than anyone that struggling teams can become extremely dangerous when they have nothing to lose.
And with the Cottagers desperate to finally get their Premier League campaign moving, Anfield could become a very uncomfortable afternoon for Iraola’s men. 👀🔥
Liverpool are favourites on paper.
But football isn’t played on paper. 😤⚽
Fulham are coming to Anfield hungry… and Liverpool better be ready. 🔴🔥
Will Liverpool win, or can Arbeloa shock Iraola? 👀
