Liverpool have once again shown that their eyes are firmly fixed on the future, securing an agreement for highly-rated French forward Djylian N’Guessan from Saint-Étienne. 🇫🇷🔴
The 18-year-old attacker is set to officially join Liverpool on a permanent transfer in January, but he will spend the remainder of the 2026/27 campaign on loan at Ligue 1 side Brest. The move gives the youngster an opportunity to continue developing in France before making the next major step of his career. 🚀
N’Guessan came through the Saint-Étienne academy and made his senior debut in January 2025. He has since made 13 appearances for the first team and scored once, despite his relatively young age.
🔥 His international record is where things get really interesting!
The French youngster has already attracted attention through the national-team setup. He was part of France’s U20 squad at the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup, featuring in seven matches as the team finished fourth. He had previously impressed at U17 level and was selected in the Team of the Tournament after scoring four goals at the European Championship. 🇫🇷⭐
Liverpool’s decision to secure his services is another sign of the club’s increasing focus on identifying talented young players before they become established stars. The Reds have continued to strengthen their youth pipeline with promising players from different parts of Europe and beyond. 🌍👀
And there is plenty of excitement surrounding N’Guessan’s potential. He is capable of operating through the middle and from wider attacking positions, giving Liverpool another versatile young forward to monitor as he develops. ⚡🎯
The interesting part? Liverpool fans will have to wait before seeing him in a competitive Reds shirt. His loan spell at Brest will be an important chapter in his development, allowing him to gain valuable experience at senior level before his permanent arrival at Anfield. 🔴🏟️
Liverpool are clearly thinking beyond the present, and this latest move could be another piece of a much bigger long-term plan. 👀🔥
The question now is simple: Could N’Guessan become Liverpool’s next academy-to-first-team breakthrough star? 🔴⭐
