Youri Tielemans has opened up about the emotions of captaining Manchester United, admitting that while wearing the armband was a huge moment of pride, the disappointment of the result quickly took over. 🥹🔴
The Belgian midfielder was handed the responsibility of leading United onto the pitch, a moment that represented a major personal milestone for a player who has become an important figure in the squad.
🎙️ Tielemans said:
“A moment of pride [of being captain], but the disappointment of the defeat takes over.”
🔥 The statement perfectly captures the mood around the dressing room.
For Tielemans, being captain of Manchester United was undoubtedly a special achievement, but personal milestones become difficult to celebrate when the team fails to get the result it wants.
The midfielder’s words also underline the mentality expected from players wearing the famous United shirt.
👀 The armband may bring pride, but for Tielemans, the result comes first.
