The 2026 Ballon d’Or race is officially heating up, and Barça News has dropped its own Top 5 ranking as the football world prepares for the grand ceremony in London on October 26. 🏆🌍
At the heart of the conversation is Lamine Yamal. The Barcelona superstar finished runner-up in last year’s Ballon d’Or and has strengthened his case with another outstanding season, helping Barça retain the La Liga title before playing a key role in Spain’s World Cup triumph. 🇪🇸🏆🔵🔴
Yamal’s 2025/26 campaign included 25 goals and 20 assists in 57 appearances, while he also collected the World Cup and La Liga titles. 🤯🔥
And the teenager is not hiding from the pressure either. Yamal recently said he believes Mbappé is his main rival for this year’s award, pointing to what both players achieved during the season. 👀⚔️
But the competition is absolutely STACKED! 😮💨🔥
🇫🇷 Kylian Mbappé produced ridiculous numbers for Real Madrid, scoring 58 goals in 60 matches across the 2025/26 season and finishing as the leading scorer in the Champions League, La Liga and World Cup. 😳⚽
🏴 Harry Kane also has a monster case after scoring 61 goals in 51 games for Bayern Munich and adding six goals at the World Cup. 🎯🔥
🇪🇸 Rodri is another major contender after returning to his best level and helping Spain lift the World Cup, while 🇫🇷 Ousmane Dembélé, last year’s winner, remains firmly in the conversation despite a lower statistical output than his award-winning campaign.
With the official 30-man shortlist confirmed, the final debate is getting SPICY! 🌶️🏆
