Hansi Flick appears to have another frightening attacking weapon at his disposal, and Barcelona fans are already dreaming about what this combination could become. 🤯
Karim Adeyemi was brought to Barcelona precisely because of the qualities Flick knows so well: explosive pace, direct running, versatility and the ability to attack space behind defensive lines. The German forward signed for Barça from Borussia Dortmund until 2031, reuniting with Flick, who gave him his Germany debut. 🇩🇪⚡ (fcbarcelona.com)
And now we are beginning to see why Flick wanted him.
Adeyemi and Lamine Yamal offer completely different problems for defenders. Lamine loves receiving the ball, slowing the game down, manipulating defenders and creating chances with his dribbling and passing. Adeyemi is almost the opposite: give him space and he will attack it at terrifying speed. 💨🔥
That difference could make the pair extremely difficult to defend.
One player can attract defenders toward the ball while the other immediately threatens the space behind them. Suddenly, the defence has to make a horrible choice: step forward and risk Adeyemi racing in behind, or drop deeper and give Lamine more room to create. 😳
We already saw a glimpse of that connection against Racing Santander.
Barcelona destroyed Racing 7–2, with Adeyemi winning the penalty that Raphinha converted before later assisting Lamine Yamal for Barça’s seventh goal after a rapid counterattack. The official match data also shows just how directly the two can combine. ⚡🔵🔴
And that is exactly what makes this Barcelona attack so exciting.
Raphinha can stretch the opposite side. Gabriel Jesus provides another option through the middle. Lamine can drift inside and create. Adeyemi can explode into the channels.
Suddenly, Flick has multiple ways to hurt an opponent. 🔥
The German coach also knows Adeyemi personally. He was the manager who handed the forward his senior Germany debut back in 2021, so Flick already understands what the 24-year-old can offer. (fcbarcelona.com)
The scary part?
This partnership is still developing. 😮💨
Adeyemi has only just arrived, while Lamine is still developing into an even more complete attacker. If Flick can perfect their movements and positional rotations, Barcelona could have an attack capable of constantly creating mismatches.
The trophies in Flick’s hands are already a reminder of what he has achieved in Barcelona.
Now he appears to be building another version of Barça — one based on speed, aggression, movement and relentless attacking pressure. 🏆🔥
Lamine creates. Adeyemi explodes. Flick orchestrates.
Barcelona fans may have a very dangerous combination on their hands. 👀🔵🔴
