Manchester United’s latest setback has once again put the spotlight on Michael Carrick and the growing frustration around his team. 😬🔴
United travelled to Fulham looking desperate for a response after the painful 3–2 Carabao Cup collapse against Brighton, where they had thrown away a two-goal lead at Old Trafford.
Instead, another frustrating afternoon followed.

And the frustration from the supporters was impossible to miss.
One of the biggest talking points came when Carrick decided to substitute Kobbie Mainoo late in the game. The decision was met with boos from sections of the travelling United support, highlighting just how irritated fans have become with the team’s performances.
Carrick, however, defended the decision and said he understood the emotions of the supporters.
The manager is now facing questions after a difficult run that has included defeats against Manchester City and Brighton, followed by the draw at Fulham.
But there is another important issue affecting the squad.
United have been missing several attacking options, including Amad Diallo, who has yet to make an appearance this season because of injury. Carrick recently indicated that Amad was not close to returning at that point, although the winger could potentially return after the international break.
That absence has been particularly significant because United have struggled to maintain attacking fluidity during this difficult spell.
Carrick knows the pressure is building, but he has insisted that his focus remains on improving the team rather than worrying about outside noise.
After the Brighton collapse, he admitted responsibility and said United had to respond quickly.
