Liverpool Women have finally done it! 😍🔥 The Reds produced a dominant display at Anfield to defeat Everton Women 2–0 and claim the Merseyside derby bragging rights in style. 🔴👏
The afternoon could hardly have started better for Gareth Taylor’s side. Just four minutes into the contest, Beata Olsson rose brilliantly to meet Natalia Ramos’ dangerous corner and guided a superb header into the far corner. 💥⚽
That early goal set the tone, but Liverpool were far from finished.
The Reds continued to control large periods of the match, creating chance after chance as Everton struggled to cope with the intensity and attacking pressure. Vivien Endemann came agonisingly close to doubling the advantage when her second-half volley crashed against the crossbar. 😱💣
Everton also had moments, but Liverpool’s defence stood firm, while goalkeeper Khiara Keating dealt with the danger when called upon.

With the game approaching its final stages, Cornelia Kapocs pounced inside the penalty area and fired home Liverpool’s second goal, sending the Kop into celebration and finally putting the derby beyond Everton’s reach. 🥳🔴⚽

Everton had won all five of their previous WSL visits to Anfield, making this fixture a frustrating one for Liverpool Women over the years. That unwanted record has now been smashed. Liverpool finally have their first WSL Merseyside derby victory over Everton at Anfield.
The victory also underlines Liverpool’s encouraging start to the new WSL campaign. The Reds now have seven points from their opening four league matches, with the only defeat coming against reigning champions Manchester City.
Captain Grace Fisk described the victory as one for the supporters, while Gareth Taylor praised the team’s determination and the quality of their performance.
